Dedication of the New Oratory in the New Building. 

Cardinal O'Brien Visited St Andrew's High School on Fri 28th Nov 2008, His Eminence spent the day with pupils and staff.

After meeting the staff informally in the staff room the Cardinal along with priests from the local parishes celebrated mass with the school.

During the mass three RE Teachers were commissioned as Eucharistic Ministers.Then the clergy and VIP guests along with The head Teacher Mrs Audrey May,senior pupils and staff made their way to the new Oratory for the dedication ceremony.

After lunch the Cardinal visited the History Dept with S2,then a discussion with a group of S6 pupils.

The Cardinal shows the S2 pupils his Pectoral cross given to him in Cambodia as a reminder of the Land Mines still in use in the country today,The right leg of Jesus is shorter than the left.

Final period of the day S6 pupils put their questions to the Cardinal in an informal discussion group.

And to end the day a Ceilidh was held in the school hall.

The Cardinal joins in the Dancing with pupils and Head Teacher Mrs Audrey May.
