Paying a surprise visit to Archbishop’s House, Edinburgh last Monday was Miss Susan Boyle, ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalist. Susan, a parishioner of Our Lady of Lourdes, Blackburn, asked friends if she might meet Cardinal O’Brien, who had written to her following on her TV success, which led to her world wide fame.

After Mass in the private chapel in Archbishop’s House, Susan and some of her closest friends relaxed with the Cardinal in his home.

Susan tries out the chair used by Pope John Paul II on his visit to St Bennet's in 1982,surrounded by her friends Lorraine Campbell,Sarah Boyle,Benny Mulhern,Frank Quinn and the Cardinal.

The Cardinal gives Susan the guided tour of St Bennet's.
